Who is Alexander Davidson?

|
Alexander Davidson
is one of the country's leading financial journalists. He has been writing for
more than two decades, mainly about the stock market and finance. Davidson
has contributed widely
to the national press – including substantially to the money section of The
Sunday Times, the business pages of Independent on Sunday, and the
legal and accounting pages of The Times. His areas of expertise include
equity capital markets, and financial services regulation and compliance.
In his early career, Davidson had worked as a share dealer, specialising in small,
high-growth companies. Disillusioned with the biased advice that some City
firms were offering, he quit his job and set up as an independent writer and
consultant. Next came the publication of his best-selling book, The
City Share Pushers.
The book was serialised by News International after a heated auction for the rights, and Channel
4's Despatches turned it into an acclaimed documentary. The book formed the basis of a motion in the House of Commons and reputedly changed the way the City operates.
Davidson has now had ten books published, with more if you include further
editions, and some of his titles have been translated into Russian and Arabic.
His latest book is The Times: How the
City Really Works.
